Valparai Green could well be a new shade of the rainbow! It was September 2013 and towards the end of the monsoons in Valparai and the tea gardens and forests were washed clean - a contiguous velvet green as far as the eye could see. The lakes were full to the brim while the rivers gushed and cascaded downhill and the song of the Whistling Thrush echoed over the hills

This was a camp I organised at the Valparai ranges and our group soft trekked to magical places like Nallamudi Poonjolai, Puduthottam and Korangumudi, soaking in the cool mountain air.

The rest is seen in this photo essay and best viewed in sequence. Clicking on each image enlarges it a bit.Slideshow mode plays music if you so wish !

I carried only a wide zoom and a medium tele zoom - as such, most of the pictures of birds had be enlarged quite a bit.
