Hasanur is a hamlet at the confluence of the Eastern and Western Ghats in South India, about 1000 mtrs in altitude. The area is rich in nature and bio diversity and was formally named The Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve in recent years. Theses lush forests are home for aa wide variety of flora, avifauna and wildlife as in The Elephant, Tiger, Leopard, Gaur and almost any mammal seen in the jungles of South India. Srikanth, Vasan and I spent a quiet sojourn at Hasanur during the chilly months of December. Game sightings were low owing to much water and moisture within the jungles that made the usual summer time water holes redundant. So it happened that this trip turned out to be more fun and laffs other than anything serious! A few pictures from our holiday!
